Machynlleth is home to a Museum of Modern Art, also known as MOMA Wales. Located in The Tabernacle, a former chapel, the museum has seven galleries and hosts regular exhibitions. The Machynlleth Comedy Festival is rapidly becoming a popular festival in the UK. Hundreds of intimate comedy shows take place at this festival over the first weekend in May each year. The shows are all located in the centre of Machynlleth within a 10-minute walk of each other and you can see as many shows as you like! Top comedians are often slated to perform at this secret gem, including, Angela Barnes, Joe Lycett, Nish Kumar, Josh Widdicombe and many more. Retaining its humble beginnings, the festival might be becoming popular but it’s aspiration to be a fun, immersive weekend away from it all continues.
